Q: ARE THERE COMPETITIONS SEPARATE FROM THE MBGN PAGEANT?
A: Yes. Miss Nigeria, which is a completely different pageant from the MBGN. The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN)'s winner,first, second and third runner ups, go on to represent their country at the Miss Universe, Miss Tourism International, Miss ECOWAS or Miss World competitions respectively.

 

Q: ARE THERE AGE REQUIREMENTS?
A: Yes. MBGN contestants must be at least 18 years of age and under 24 years of age by the time in the year they hope to compete in the Miss Universe,Miss Tourism International, Miss ECOWAS or Miss World.

 

Q: CAN A DELEGATE COMPETE MORE THAN ONCE?
A: Contestants may compete more than once in the competition.

 

Q: ARE CONTESTANTS REQUIRED TO HAVE A COACH?
A: No. While some feel more prepared when they work with an experienced person who can give them tips on competition, many women have won titles without any outside training. Candidates also turn to their state and national directors for assistance as the directors are experienced in 
providing effective counsel about the competition. Generally, state and national directors provide contestants with the confidence and experience needed to compete.

 

Q: CAN CONTESTANTS BE MARRIED?
A: No, contestants may not be married or pregnant. They must not have ever been married, not had a marriage annulled nor given birth to, or parented, a child. The titleholders are also required to remain single throughout their reign.

 

Q: HOW DO CONTESTANTS GET TO THE NATIONAL COMPETITION?
A: For Miss World,the winner of the MBGN World goes for the International Pageant.
MBGN Universe (First runner-up) goes on to represent the Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant.
MBGN Tourism goes on to the Tourism International competition and finally the third runner up goes for the Miss ECOWAS competition.

 

Q: WHO TELEVISES THE COMPETITIONS?
A: Silverbird Television (www.silverbirdtv.com/live) broadcasts the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (MBGN) and Mister Nigeria competitions live on DSTV Channel 252. The  events are packaged together for later viewing on the network.

 

Q: WHO PRODUCES THE LIVE TELEVISED EVENTS?
The MBGN and MR Nigeria  specials are produced by the Silverbird Productions, a part of the Silverbird Group.
